Some 20 or 30 years ago one could easily walk to the glacier tongue of the Morteratsch glacier (a little bit further up the valley from where I took the photo). No problem, even with small children. And one could see the creek leaving the glacier mouth. And it was possible to walk on the glacier ice. Very interesting. Tempi passati. Today, there is no glacier ice any more in this area (primarily due to global warming). If you want to see the ice, you have to walk up a steep scree slope, which definitively is not everyone‘s taste. Thank you for your visits / comments / faves!
