A busy day with the Corolla being tray backed away by the NRMA at 4:30 Turns out during my dazed state of mind at home I thought I would top up the fuel with 10litres so I would not get stuck somewhere … I thought the fuel looked a little light coloured. I was turning off the GDE onto Belco rd to the hospital when the car nearly stalled. I limped to the car park under Mary. See photos on Flickr. The car was sick so called the NRMA the friendly expert of 40yrs of NRMA thought it was the air cleaner sensor so he called a tow truck and took it to Paul Wyatt… Kate and I followed in the Tesla but couldn’t leave the keys so she dropped them off Monday morning. They looked at the car over the next few days and when I called in to check on progress later they said there was another issue. I phoned this am Thursday and they said they had to drain the fuel tank and change the spark plugs as it had diesel in it. They fitted a new Air Cleaner intake Sensor too. I checked through #AngelaMerc log book and I had filled the 10l Jerry can in Goulburn on 20/11/24.. Looks like I emptied 10l of bloody diesel into the poor old Corolla and it has cost me $651 to fix… eleven bottles of Whisky!!! I should have remembered Hon Wen. eurospecialityautomotive.com.au/about-us I met him in the Gungahlin Market Place 20-03-25 and he said he could have fixed it on the spot.
