Between the central nave and the crypt is a marble parapet by Anselmo da Campione (ca. 1150–1210) portraying the Passion of Christ, including the Last Supper. The painted marble relief shows the kiss of Judas, also known as the Betrayal of Christ, the act with which Judas identified Jesus to the people, who had come to arrest him, according to the Synoptic Gospels.
