Pen y Fan seen from Fan Gyhirych, last burst of sun before sunset
One of those beautiful moments when the sun dips below the cloud before it sets and sends a last burst of weak sunshine across the landscape. The hills take on a reddish glow and shadows are long and deep. Visibility was also exceptional that evening. If you double enlarge and look about a quarter way in from the left, Clee Hill in Shropshire, 57 miles (92 km) away as the crow flies, can be made out on the horizon.
