Photo of a photo: Photograph of the Memorial to Stalin, since torn down, in the Museum of Communism, Prague, Czech Republic.

This photograph appears in the Museum of Communism, Prague, Czech Republic. I chose to photograph it (and post it) because the monument no longer exists and its being torn down is itself a dramatic demonstration of the changing understanding of Communism in this part of the world. At the same time, it is a striking work of "socialist realism" that in part shows what Communists wanted to believe they were all about. I do not recall the original photographer being credited at the Museum.
