Vizcaya Bridge

The Vizcaya Bridge was built in 1893 to connect the two banks situated at the mouth of the Nervion River northwest of Bilbao, Basque Country, Spain. It is the world's oldest transporter bridge. The bridge is 164 meters long, and its gondola can transport six cars and several dozen passengers in one and a half minutes across the river. Two visitor lifts were installed in the 50-meter-high pillars of the bridge, which allows visitors to walk on the platform between the pillars. In 2006 the Vizcaya Bridge was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Thank you for your visits / comments / faves!
