Doe in front of a Landscape (1913), painted by Niko Pirosmani

I think the doe looks very friendly. Great! Niko Pirosmani (1862–1918) was a Georgian painter, who posthumously rose to prominence. Relatively poor for most of his life, he worked a variety of ordinary jobs. He was a self-taught painter, and he is famous for his rustic, everyday scenes, which he depicts with great sensitivity. Pirosmani has become one of Georgia's most beloved artists. I took the photo in a comprehensive exhibition of Pirosmani’s work organised by Fondation Beyeler, Riehen, Switzerland.
