Getting here meant a lot. I came here in 2022 with my sister and daughter. Arches was to be the capstone of the trip to Utah, we had already seen Capitol Reef, Bryce Canyon and Canyonlands. The trip was time for October to avoid the new reservation system. How smart I thought I was. But even in October, a lot of people come here. Rationing by... lines! Only those who arrived very early got in that norning. We had to find other things like Wilson Arch to see It was cool. We did get later around 4 or 5 PM. However that meant the sun was setting soon. I got to see Arches and Double Arch from a distance and not for long at that. I was very disappointed. All of Arches was a big rush, kind of exciting in a way. Still I wanted more. The trip to Arches in 2023 grew out of that. Also, do to health issue, Jenette had not been able to join us in 2022. This year we had reservations for the mornings in June. (They sell out in the spring - keep that in mind) So, on June 13th I got pretty close to Double Arch. I have a huge debt to my niece Jenette as well. The path to the Arch slopes down pretty steeply from the parking lot. I crab walked my rolling walker down the path with Net spotting, and had success in seeing the Arch up close.
