B3R49-29 Mary at remote lonely Nullarbor grave at old "Pine Hill" homestead.

Very Approx,, somewhere South of Balladonia on our early #roundAustraliawithSpelio I visited all these spots with the #GSWANullarbor. So much of our lives together lie ahead of us... Story posted on Caroline's photo... We broke a fan belt on the Land Rover, #WAG9623 here on our return up the hill. The GSWA had put in a spare, but it was the wrong size, so we had to rejoin the break and then more breaks, with bits of wire, and limp to Norseman for a repair! I hear you can use some panty hose as a fan belt if you are desperate, but who wears panty hose out here?? A couple of years later I took Mary out here for a look around with the confidence of someone who had driven all the tracks, and scrub bashed for months in the LandRover, and was only 23. But we were now in a Beetle, #UPR236 having driven from Esperance along the sandy track to Mt Ragged. We drove with great expectation down this track but soon started hitting rocks and bumping them along under the VW floorboards. Mary walked along in front to check for rocks hiding in the foot-high grass, and I would creep the car over them as they bumped and ground their way out to threaten the muffler at the rear. We soon gave up and returned to Mt Ragged for the night and later up to all the old dams and homesteads up to Balladonia. So we never did reach Israelite Bay again. Even in 2009, when the road got boggy and we had a trailer, so it remains a place we have to return to>>>>
