Flowering Sea Mayweed (Tripleurospermum maritimum) growing at a shore in Viðfjörður, an abandoned fjord in E-Iceland. The Icelandic name of the plant is Baldursbrá, or Baldur's eyelashes, referring to the Old Norse god, a son of Odin and the most beautiful and just of the gods. The flower may have been present in Iceland before settlement, or it was accidentally brought by early settlers, but it most often grows along the coast, close to human habitations (in this particular location, an abandoned habitation). Tea was made of Baldursbrá in Iceland, considered good for health, particularly for women.
