The Landwasser Viaduct was constructed between 1901 and 1902 on behalf of the Rhaetian Railway, which both owns and operates it till today. The viaduct is part of the World Heritage-listed Albula Railway linking Thusis on the Hinterrhein (697 m) and Filisur (1,080 m) with St. Moritz in the Engadin (1,775 m). The Landwasser Viaduct is 65 m high and 136 m long. One of the striking features is its highly pronounced curve. In 2009 the viaduct was renovated for the first time since its original construction.
