Matterhorn
When hiking the Matterhorn Glacier Trail (from Trockener Steg to Schwarzsee), the Matterhorn comes closer and closer, until finally one stands more or less directly below this iconic mountain. The Hörnli Hut (Hörnlihütte, located at 3,260 m) can be spotted on the ridge coming down from the Matterhorn. This is the usual starting point for the ascent of the Matterhorn.
