Af Valahnúkum
Landscape in the uninhabited southern highlands of Iceland, looking east from the top on Mt. Valahnúkar (721 m). The mountains in the distance are Löðmundur and Sauðleysur, located in the protected area of Fjallabak. The "gargoyle" on the left is formed of wind-eroded hyaloclastite, or cemented volcanic ash and gravel, the dominant rock type in this area.
