B2R21-6 Fisherman's Hut Israelite Bay with #WAG9623

slide colours are still OK 55 years later...! Some of my first experiences of driving a 4WD, and on rough muddy tracks.. Thurs. 3rd.. See the two vehicles here which confirms the date during the first traverse of the Nullarbor with Phil Playford on the reconnoitre of the whole survey area… (See NOTE on left) I came up the rear driving one of the land Rovers, #WAG9623, to Mount Ragged, took a few wrong turns, and went for a few miles along winding tracks. We cut across country with the scrub bashing the vehicle sides, and following the rough winding track to the old Telegraph station where I took a few photos and drove to the coast had a paddle and look at the rocks. Then drove to a nearby salt lake, see below, and walked around looking for tektites and took photo of some emu tracks. I followed some beaut old tracks in the sand and bush four-wheel-drive a few times and then headed back to Mount Ragged. It got dark about 4:45 and we made camp in the scrub beside the road, lit fire and put up the tent, I slept out ... We had a large meal with spuds and veggies pudding and custard
