Við Vestrahorn

Part of Mt. Vestrahorn near Höfn in SE-Iceland. It is made of gabbro, a plutonic rock chemically equivalent to volcanic basalt, but one that cools and crystallizes in magma chambers deeper in the crust, so the mountain is made of a monolithic coarse-grained rock rather than a layer-cake of basalt lavas like most mountains in Iceland.
