Kerling í Helgrindum
Kerling is one of the peaks in Helgrindur mts. on the Snæfellsnes peninsula in W-Iceland, height appr. 970 m. On the north side of Helgrindur is a tiny Alpine glacier. The clear snow is remnants of last winter's snowfall, but the patterns are in old ice, created by a seasonal cover of dust in between new layers of winter snow. The view here is to the southeast.
