Beinn na Chearcaill: looking towards Beinn an Eoin, wildfire burning out of control near Gairloch
This large blaze, which started around mid-morning and spread for several miles, took firemen hours to bring under control and led to the closure of the A832 for the rest of the day. A camp fire or disposable barbecue from wild campers was thought likely to be the cause according to the first press reports.
