Looking over Þórsmörk from Goðaland, the cone is Mt. Rjúpnafell. Þórsmörk is one of the most popular destination for hikers and campers in Iceland, with fascinating geological formations and birch woodlands - and often good weather, as it is sheltered by glaciers on 3 sides. It is only accessible by bus or good 4x4 jeeps, that have to cross the river Krossá, that meanders on a gravelly plain through the valley.
