Tomb of the Diver

The Tomb of the Diver is an archaeological monument, built in 480/470 BC and found about 1.5 km south of the Greek city of Paestum in southern Italy. The tomb is now displayed in the National Archaeological Museum at Paestum, Italy. It is unique in terms of the theme portrayed on it: a naked young man dives into the ocean, a visual metaphor for the transition from life to death. Since 1998 Paestum is listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site. Many thanks for your visits / comments / faves!
