Vatn á Snæfellsnesi
A small lake on the south side of the Snæfellsnes peninsula in W-Iceland; the reddish hue on the reflections is due to plants in the water. The water in this area is fertile and mineral rich and in some parts sparkling with CO2 - this natural fizzy water is believed to have beneficial powers if you drink it or swim in it, as you can do in the nearby natural swimming-pool at Lýsuhóll. The mountain to the right is Þorgeirsfell.
