At JC, or Canterbury, as the surveyor tried to call it!
The local drovers were always getting drunk in the pub here, and the cattle would make a break for the scrub, so the pub was dismantled, by the owner, JC, who carved his initials in the bar.. This is about 80km west of Windorah in Qld, on the Diamantina Developmental Road to Bedourie. It makes a great campsite away from the traffic and crowds of Windorah. His wife said "Wait for me in the car, I'll only be a moment" and that was 70 years ago. :) Another one worth stopping for!
