Athena Temple

The Temple of Athena in Paestum, Italy, was built around 500 BC. The architecture is partly in the Ionic style and partly early Doric. Three medieval Christian tombs in the floor show that the temple was used for some time as a Christian church. Paestum was a major ancient Greek city on the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea in southern Italy. Since 1998 Paestum is listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site. Many thanks for your visits / comments / faves!
