Pilgrimage

St. James pilgrimage trail in Sahagún, Spain. The Camino de Santiago (the Way of St. James) is a network of pilgrimage ways leading to the shrine of the apostle James in the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia in northwestern Spain. The graffiti on the wall at right shows an important St. James pilgrim accessory, the St. James's shell (a scallop shell), which is a symbol of the pilgrimage route to the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.
